Does US Success Await James Corden?

The Telegraph certainly thinks so with, “Gavin and Stacey’s James Corden: From joblessness to Stateside fame and fortune.

Although success eluded Corden during the first few years of his career, he’s made it big with UK hit Gavin & Stacey (among other projects). Now Gavin & Stacey is scheduled for a US-makeover and poised to make its creators millions.

I agree with the article author, Gavin & Stacey should translated well for the US audience. Here’s hoping it sees as much success as another UK comedy export, The Office. Coincidentally (or not) both are slated for broadcast on NBC.

Oh no! I am from the States so I knew this would happen. I always worry when US producers get their hands on things. They usually muck it up.

Like, I am certain the Nessa so brilliantly played by Ruth Jones will be changed to be some super-skinny actress who, instead of having a rich and humorous background with funny stories that pop out of the blue, will just act slutty. Ugh. Hopefully I am wrong.

    Love yer blog!
