We posted yesterday that the Swansea Evening Post was reporting that James Corden and Ruth Jones, co-creators of the hit comedy Gavin & Stacey, had promised the show would return in some form in 2009.

Now, we’re VERY PLEASED to share that BBC News is reporting that James and Ruth have committed to a full third series of Gavin & Stacey. The duo made the announcement during a live, on-stage broadcast of Jones’ radio show in Barry, Sunday morning.

A crowd of around 1,000, some carrying signs reading “Third Series Please,” greeted the announcement with loud cheers.

The Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special airs Christmas Eve at 10pm on BBC1.
