Corden football spoof ready for broadcast

As we previously reported, James Corden has filmed a football spoof for Comic Relief. The sketch will air during Red Nose Day on BBC1 this Friday, March 13th at 7pm.

The sketch involves Corden, as his character Smithy from Gavin & Stacey, dressing down the England squad including David Beckham. On last week’s Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Corden talked about meeting Beckham.

All reviews of the 7-minute sketch have been considerably positive.

The Mail Online has a new preview article,”James Corden shows England football stars who’s boss in Comic Relief sketch,” which includes a preview clip first aired during Jonathan Ross.

The Mirror also has an article, but their preview appears to be of the entire sketch. Check it out – “James Corden joins England squad for Comic Relief sketch.” (video)

The BBC also has a “behind the scenes” video up – “England gets comic coach for Comic Relief.” (video)
