Over the past two series, our Gavin & Stacey Music pages have been some of the most popular on this blog. Music plays a significant role in the series and fans love to collect the songs they hear.
While many programs today use custom or canned music, Gavin & Stacey always picks some of the best in popular, British tunes to make it into the show.
With the start of series 3 we need your help with this question: What’s that song?
It’s easy to lend a hang – just post a comment below with any song-related info you know from the third series. Be sure to note the episode number if you remember. We’ll do the dirty work – scrounging up the appropriate YouTube clips and Amazon links.

On S3 E1 the tunes were mainly songs by ‘The Rifles’ from their second album ‘The Great Escape’. The start of the episode starts with the tune ‘Romeo and Julie’. Have a ganders at their myspace page for a few other crackers!
in the first episode many of the songs were by a band i’ve been to see twice who i think are amazing. they are called The Rifles. one of the songs definatly used was right a the start called romeo and julie.

Could any help me with the name of the ambient like shoegaze song after they get out of the doctor office in episode 4 of series 3? I know someone said it was instrumental 2 by Noah and the Whale but it isn’t. If anyone could help that would be fantastic. I think there are several of us who would like that information.

Episode 2: Alphabeat’s “Touching Me Touching You” at the intro of the episode, and then their “Boyfriend” when Gavin, Stacey, and Nessa arrive at Pam and Mick’s.
The Kooks are also heard frequently throughout the series, I think probably almost every episode. For instance, in Episode 4 their song “Sway” can be heard twice, first after Gavin leaves Gwen and Bryn making the bed in his bedroom and again upon the transition between the Renewal ceremony and its reception. And then their “Mr. Maker” is also heard when Dawn arrives at Pam and Mick’s the night before the ceremony. =)

The song towards the end of 3×06 is “You’ve Got the Love” by Florence and the Machine.
Although I recommend the original “You Got the Love” by Candi Staton (and also The Source version) much higher

Can anyone tell me the name of a song that played on last nights episode on BBC One,Series 1 Episode 2.
It was playing when Stacey left Gavin and boarded the bus in London and continued to play when Gavin drove to Wales (I think) to meet her when she jumped of the bus.
