Corden turns down ITV, Returns to National Stage

James Corden has reportedly turned down a lucrative ITV deal in favor of returning to his roots as a stage actor.

The six-figure golden handcuff deal from ITV came on the heels of Corden’s successful World Cup show.

Instead, Corden reunites with Nicholas Hytner to star in The Servant of Two Masters at the National Theater in 2011. Corden and Hytner previously collaborated on The History Boys, the award-winning stage performance and subsequent theatrical adaptation that first propelled Corden out of obscurity.
