The solo beat out James Corden’s dressing down of  the England football squad for Comic Relief, which placed second.

And while the famous Gavin & Stacey catch-phrase, “What’s Ocurrin?” finished second to Sir Alan Sugar’s “you’re fired,” Gavin & Stacey picked up props for the best comedy.

Friday’s Metro.co.uk lists Zoo’s 100 Coolest British Men for 2008. James Corden makes this year’s list at 18, a respectable showing that reflects his meteoric rise this year.

Corden beat out many better-known Brits, including Simon Cowell, Simon Pegg, Hugh Laurie and Ricky Gervais.

The WGGA Award was announced last night and reported on their website.

Corden joins quite a list of male UK talent. See the full list and footage at GQ.com.

The award adds to a growing list for Corden, including this year’s BAFTA for Best Comedy Performance.

The Guardian has released the MediaGuardian 100 for 2008, the

annual guide to the most powerful people in the industry. Candidates are judged on three criteria – their cultural, economic and political influence in the UK. The list was takes in all sectors of the media, including broadcasting, publishing, digital media, advertising, marketing and PR.

James Corden and Ruth Jones show up as #25 this year, rounding out the first quarter of the list.

The duo also made the cut for “Top 10 New Entries,” while Corden eked out the number 4 spot in the “Top 10 under-40″ list.

Congrats to all the winners – but especially James + Ruth.
