The six-figure golden handcuff deal from ITV came on the heels of Corden’s successful World Cup show.

Instead, Corden reunites with Nicholas Hytner to star in The Servant of Two Masters at the National Theater in 2011. Corden and Hytner previously collaborated on The History Boys, the award-winning stage performance and subsequent theatrical adaptation that first propelled Corden out of obscurity.

Corden will portray the servant Planchet to Bloom’s Duke of Buckingham in the Constantin Film and impact Pictures release.

Previously announced cast for “Musketeers” includes Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu; Logan Lerman as D’Artagnan; Matthew MacFadyen, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans as Athos, Porthos and Aramis, respectively; Milla Jovovich as M’lady De Winter; and Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort.

Summit has slated “Musketeers” for a summer 2011 U.S. release. Screenplay is adapted from the Alexandre Dumas novel by Andrew Davies and Alex Litvak.”

The UK Press Association is reporting that James Corden and Ruth Jones, the writing duo behind Gavin & Stacey, are working together on a film script.

Gavin & Stacey has been widely acclaimed for its storytelling,picking up a slew of awards for both the show and it’s creators.

The film would represent the duo’s first major post-Gavin writing project.

James was not giving much away about the plot, but teased: “We write stuff about people, we’re good with people, so it’s definitely not going to be like The Matrix or 2012.”

James Corden joins a star-filled Hollywood cast by lending his vocals to the upcoming animated film Planet 51. Corden plays Soldier Vernkot.

According to the IMDB, Planet 51 is about

American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders…like Chuck! “

The George Kay penned script reported topped this year’s Brit List – the top films having difficulty getting made.

Jim Field Smith has signed to direct (having previously worked with Corden on the short film Where Have I Been All Your Life?) the film about a “perennially unlucky man whose fortunes abruptly change.”
